Tetracycline (antibiotic) staining, excessive fluoride, trauma (injury) to the teeth, pulp degeneration, restorative materials (silver, gold), genetic and acquired illnesses, aging, and consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea, or tobacco products.
Take Home Whitening
Whitening is done simply and can be performed in the comfort of your own home. Impressions are taken and custom whitening trays are made to snugly fit around the teeth. Patients are then appointed to have the trays fitted and be given instructions on use. The take home whitening trays achieve very good results in two to three weeks of daily use.
In Office Whitening
An alternative to the take home whitening trays is our in office teeth whitening. This procedure is performed in two 1 hour appointments with one of our skilled dental assistants. Unlike the take home option, which is a gradual process, the patient will see results at the first whitening appointment. With this option, whitening trays are also made to maintain the lighter shade. Our in office teeth whitening procedure works well for patients with busy lifestyles or needing results sooner than two weeks.
